These pictures are of the Deseret Book Corporate Headquarters in downtown SLC. Brett did this job last winter, but I came across some pictures and thought I would post them. This is cherry wood with a dye stain

Ummm, who is that???

BC Finishing Pictures

Here are some pictures of some of the projects Brett has recently been working on. He is going to be starting some fun refinishes and big, nice custom homes soon, and we will take lots of pictures. We are also starting to do our cabinets for our house and will take lots of pictures of those also. We finally picked out a finish for our house (because we see so much we are always changing our mind), and it looks great. We will be doing alder with a darker glaze and dye.
These are some of the last panels we had for the Draper Temple. It is natural figured macarae, which is imported (and very expensive) and very beautiful. I wish we had more pictures of the temple, and our pictures are very amateur.

This is a panel for The Quilted Bear. It is green with faux finish, crackles, and a glaze. It went with a darker stained wood and looked great in person (but my pictures arent)

Well...

Well, it has been a busy week, to say the least. I got my final exam results today in the mail... and I passed. One of my main goals in school was to pass every board exam on the first try, no matter what my score was, AND I DID IT! I have now officially earned the RDH that will follow my name.
I have to say thanks so much for all my family, friends, and of course Brett, who have been so supportive and knew I could do it. I still can't believe I am done with school.
This is what our house currently looks like. The heating/AC, plumbing, electrical will be done this week. We are hoping for our 4-way next week.

The back of the house
GO JAZZ!!! We were lucky enough to go to the Jazz game on Friday when they BEAT the Lakers. It was an awesome game, and of course we wore our free Jazz t-shirts

If you have ever heard of David Archuleta, he did a great job singing the national anthem. I have it recorded, but I couldn't figure out how to download it. The crowd cheered as loud for him as they did for the Jazz!

Saturday we found ourselves in the ambulance and ER for Brett. He was roping in a roping in Lehi and got his rope caught around his finger, and we thought his whole thumb was gone. Once we got to the hospital and cut off his glove, it was discovered no bones were actually broken, just severely dislocated and his bone was sticking out of his skin. We were so relieved that no surgery was going to be involved, and his thumb would not be completely amputated. The doctor sutured up his thumb the same way we learned in school (on pigs feet), and I offered to do it, but Brett wasn't going for it (the doctor even admitted he learned on pigs feet also)!!!
It was such a crazy day, and we are so lucky Brett's injuries weren't worse.

Once we got home, Brett was in so much pain and crashed on the couch, where he has been sleeping.
His hand is very swollen now, and he is still in a lot of pain, but hopefully the next few days will get better.

How did Bryan's picture end up on the blog again???

I heard my sister Becky who lives in Arizona was upset everyone was on the blog but her, so I tried to find a picture of all us girls in the family and don't have one on my computer at the moment, so I posted a family photo at Lake Powell, the best place in the world! We have had a houseboat there for as long as I can remember, and we think its fabulous.

Hello

I was hoping to post more pictures of what Brett has been working on, but I have actually been WORKING!!! Wow, and I kindof wish I wasn't. I have been temping this week as a dental assistant because I cannot do hygiene yet, and temps don't get the love they deserve. I don't think I will be temping next week.

Framing on our house will be done this week, and it is going very fast. I will hopefully have more pictures tomorrow

Brett has been so busy this week with work. He is currently working on the Quilted Bear, a hospital in Fillmore (?), and LOTS of cabinets!!! I have pictures and will post them soon, but they aren't that great.

I am excited because I have had lots of replies about my blog, and it seems EVERYONE has blogs, and I love checking them out!!!

Our little Bryan, named after the "Family Guy" (brett's favorite show), not to be confused with my brother Bryan, my sister's fiance Brian, or anybody else named Bryan that we seem to know.

Our new house

We are building a new home in Genola. This is a first for us and hope to post updated pictures from time to time. Bryan is the best and keeps things organized. Framing will be done next week and we are so excited to have our very own home!

Graduation!!!! 5-1-08

I even got a "gracias" from the other girls for my bilingual skills, and I loved the chocolate they gave me

Lorrie is newly engaged and is getting married December 1st in Jamaica. I can't wait for that wedding, and her ring is beautiful. Congratulations!!!

Mom, Fred, Grandma Luella, Lorrie, and Brittany also came to the graduation.

Brett's mom, grandma, and grandpa Marx also came to the graduation. Brett's dad, Clay, was out of town at a reigning

My little sister Shalice was able to come up from Arizona to come to the graduation. I was so excited to have her there, I love her to death!

Engagements and Bridals

I know these pictures are a year old and we have been married for almost a year, but I cannot stop posting... Im addicted!!!

Misc Dental Hygiene Pics

Brandy, me, Nicki, and Taylor waiting for patients to come in clinic.

Heather, me, and Stephanie at Taylors surprise 30th Birthday party in December. I love these guys!

This is our certificates for passing the Anesthesia Wreb exam, both written and clinical. Thanks Jen for being my patient that day and getting numb so many times for me!

Me and Nicki studied and researched "Meth Mouth" for our table clinic presentation, and if I may say I think we did a great job!

Me and Nicki enjoying the wonderful pot luck lunch day. If anything, us students are really good at eating, I don't think any student didn't gain weight during the program

Dental Hygiene

I just graduated from Dental Hygiene school on May 1st. It was the hardest, most stressful thing in the whole world for me, but I am very proud of myself for hanging in there and getting it done. Brett has been so supportive of me and I love him so much for that. Our class had 22 wonderful ladies and I love them all so much and have the best friends in the whole world who went through it all with me!

Brett's Business

Brett is the owner of BC Finishing, LLC and does custom wood finishing. He had been doing wood finishing for about 6 years and went on his own April 2007. He has been so busy and we are very fortunate his business is going well. He will be moving into a new shop starting this month in Lindon. It will be a huge upgrade from his little shop out back from the house, but it will be great!

This is a mantle that Brett worked on and it turned out beautiful!

Brett's Business

This is a conference table for Wadsworth Construction. It resembles a piano and gave Brett quite a headache to work on but he did awesome and he is very proud of this project.
