Deer Hunting

Last weekend we went on the deer hunt for 5 days. While it was a lot of fun, it was also VERY cold. We got wind, rain, hail, and snow. Not my type of camping, but we had fun anyway. We went to an area west of Delta in the middle of nowhere. It was such a fun and unique place to camp and had tons of ATV trails. We will definitely be going back there camping.
Oh, and Brett got a deer, but it was a small one. We didn't see many bucks, but we were glad to have some meat for the winter :)
Us before the storms started coming in... cold, but tolerable.

View from our campsite looking up to some very unique rocks. Apparently people from all over come and rock climb here

It was fun to see some leaves before they all fall off. It was so pretty.

There was a lot of mining in this area, and there are a ton of old mines/buildings everywhere. It was fun to do some exploring.

View looking West into Nevada as a storm was coming in

Our trailer during the hail storm, it was crazy- of course we were taking cover

Good thing I brought 2 pair of gloves

Brett showing off his master cooking skills

When we got our trailer 2 yrs ago Brett was just SURE we needed a new TV for it. Well about 1.5 yrs ago we bought one...... and have never used it until this trip..... because of the crappy weather. It was very nice to get the heater going, take a nice hot shower, and watch a movie before bed. Good thing the TV works

At an old abandoned building

The frost and snow stuck to the trees and it was so pretty with the sun hitting them.... but also very cold

Just thought I would throw a picture of our little Brian on our way camping- he loves to go camping!
Last week was really sad because Brett's family had to put down B's mom because of health concerns. JJ was part of the family and we will really miss her.

A few weeks ago we FINALLY got internet at our house. Yep that's right we finally joined the technology revolution and it has been nice. No phone yet, maybe some time. Truth is we sorta like not having to talk much on the phone while we are home.

Makes me smile

I was saving pictures to the hard drive and I came across some that are pretty old, but always make me smile.

With a toy spider that he tore apart.

Always my favorite post

We just got back from Green River Camping!

We go every Spring Break and UEA camping at the White Wash Sand Dunes by Green River and Moab and it is the BEST place to go. It's by far the best kept secret in Utah if you like to ATV.

Before we get to that I will show you the third backsplash I have done (not sure if I posted the second). This is in our 1/2 bath. I had a slight addiction to the "Do it yourself" network (DirecTv 230), and it was taking quite a hit to our budget. I stopped cold turkey and just pass it by on the remote when looking for something to watch. But..... I hope to do another project next month- so stay tuned :)

Ok- on to camping. I went camping with my family to Green River last weekend. Brett went scouting deer for this weekends deer hunt, so me and little Brian went alone and met my family there. Super fun time.

My cousin Jake and his wife Josie came for the first time and brought their little girl Cadence and she had all the attention and she is so dang cute. It's always fun having a little baby around.... and to get some "nudges" from my family that it's time for more little babies :)

Tyson FINALLY held Cadence, and between you and me I think he secretly liked it :)

Daniele and Cadence

Bryan taking in the scenery..... and probably looking for leftovers thrown over the edge. I think we eat better camping than we do at home.

Mom and Fred doing breakfast

When trying to find helmets for all the kids, Brady came across his "Evil Knievel" helmet, and wore it the rest of the day. Helloooooo 1980

Maycee caught a cute little Lizard

Brent got the Rzr stuck in the sand

Ok here's the story..... While on a ride on Saturday with about 10-12 of us in a pretty remote and challenging area we came across a nice man who was hurt and needed life flight. He had an accident on his motorcycle and thought he had broken his pelvis- he was in extreme pain. Of course we had to stop and help and waited a while for him to get help. It was probably and hour or so and life flight finally came.

Here's the interesting part. If you have never been around a helicopter landing, you have no idea what force and wind it creates- I swear it was like a tornado, with lots of sand and rock.

All of the sudden we realized they were landing the helicopter RIGHT next us and we all ran for cover. While doing so, Rebecca (in our group) was knocked off the ledge we were standing on, twisted her ankle, got several deep cuts on her face/nose, and had a motocycle land on her.

After she went to the hospital it was revealed she broke her ankle and her nose, and had huge cuts all across her face (which luckily didn't need stitches). By Sunday she had two huge black swollen shut eyes! Rebecca happens to be one of the nicest people ever, so we wish her a speedy recovery.... and hope she will join us again!

What a freak accident! All by the helicopter! Helping someone else out! So Weird!

This is us by Jeff, the man who was hurt right when we got there. I may be a little insensitive because I take pics of Everything!

Life flight finally coming

After Rebecca's accident, she is on the ground getting attention.

Everyone helping Jeff to the helicopter

Helicopter shot

Jeff was flown to Grand Junction where he was evaluated. We heard he had "broken his ball joint" from members of his camp and was to be flown to the U of U on Sunday for Surgery- hopefully he will have a speedy recovery. And of course Rebecca.

How cute is Cadence???? Super Cute

These pics make me want Winter to hurry and get here so we can get it over with and go back to Green River camping

Looking forward the the rest of fall, it has been super fun and great weather. We booked our winter trip in Feb to Puerto Vallarta!!! Yay, the countdown begins.....

Becky's Pictures

I took some pictures of Becky and Jake's family and here are a few of my favorites.
