Catching Up- Post #2

Recently we went to San Diego for my Birthday and Shalice and Dusty came and met us for a few days. I took their pictures while we were there on the beach in Del Mar. Super fun time.
Here are a few of my favorites

Catching Up- Post #1

Ok- I am playing catch up with my blog. It may take a few days, but better late than never.

Almost a year ago I set out with a goal to run a 1/2 marathon, not knowing what to expect or if I could actually do it. Well- Less than 1 year later me and my sisters (who participated in this with me) have done a 5K, 10K, 1/2 marathon, and a marathon relay! All Together!
And while it has been fun.... I have learned I don't love to run and it is still very hard for me. I don't think I will be signing up for any races anytime soon. There is another 1/2 marathon in Scottsdale in Jan. we have been considering- we'll see.
Last weekend Me, Becky, Lorrie, Whitney, and Whitney's friend Stephanie did a marathon relay- the only way I will ever do a marathon- we all do 5.2 miles :)
It was super cold in the morning, but then it warmed up.

I love to watch "The Biggest Loser", and starting next week is a new season. There is a lady from Eagle Mountain competing- the Purple Team. She was there with her trainers running together. We got to meet and talk with her, she was very nice- so we need to all cheer her on. The show had already taped and she couldn't tell us what happened or how far she went, only the season Finale is in Dec.
We weren't allowed to pose for pictures with her, but we could take pics of her from afar
She is on the left, her trainer on the right

But I did get a picture with her trainer, who was also very nice.

This is our team after the race. We didn't win (or come close), but we all did good. Thanks to Brittany and Brian for making our sign and cheering us on.

Mission: Accomplished

WE DID IT!!!!!
Me, Becky, and Lorrie ran the Provo River 1/2 marathon and we did great if I may say so myself. It was very hard and I can still barely walk.

There were a few things/goals I wanted to do when doing the 1/2 marathon
1- Finish
2- Finish ahead of the sweepers
3- Not be the last one across the line
4- Finish in under 3 hrs
And I accomplished all of them! Yay for me!
My sisters were all faster than me, but I guess the good thing about that is I have more people at the bottom cheering me on.

Us at 5:00 a.m. getting on the buses to the start

Brett was so wonderful to come and watch me finish, It really meant a lot to me- then he took me out for a huge yummy lunch :)

Us after the race

Rodeos, Rodeos, Rodeos- that's what we have been doing a lot this summer. It's been fun to watch Brett rope

I love summer sunsets

Brian chilling in the shade with some flowers. Not our house, hope its ok if he messes up the yard a little

My new addiction is watchin the DIY network (Do it yourself). They make everything look so easy so I thought I would tackle a backsplash (started in the laundry room in case I really messed up). It actually was very easy and turned out great. I am going to do all my bathrooms next, and save the kitchen for last when Im a pro because we want to do a big, awesome one there!

That's it for now!

Family Pictures

Recently at Grandma Luella's funeral we finally had everyone in the family together and thought it would be a great time for family pictures since we have people living all over and we never are in the same place at the same time (between the Fox's and Finlinson's).
I like to "Dabble" a little in photography, but need much more practice since Im still learning. So if anyone wants their pictures done, Im very cheap- lol- like basically free.
I took some pictures and it was really fun to do. I'm not good with kids or getting their attention, so some of the larger pics are the best I could do :)
It was pretty fun because we did the pictures in Luella's backyard and it is so pretty there- Love you Grandma Luella, and miss you lots.
Fox's
Fox/Finlinson group shot - yup there really is that many kids between my mom and Fred

Ok, now I have to figure out what is going on with my blog- I am having technical difficulties!!!!

More Summer Fun

We went to Flaming Gorge last weekend and fished, boated, and rafted the Green River. We had a lot of fun. I have lots of pics and will post them later- I am running out of time

Us floating the river
Brett and Bryan swimming

On our way up there we went to the best restaurant, the Taggart Grill. It is by Morgan and you would never know its there. I would definitely recommend it. Its in the middle of nowhere, and we were there on a weeknight and the parking lot was full- we had to wait a long time for a table.

We recently went golfing for the first time this year, and look what happened.

Summer things

It has been a very busy summer for us, and summer is our favorite time of year. I am trying to be patient with my computer because it has recently been taking forever to upload pictures, making me blog less frequently. I think I need a new Mac :)
Us on the Fourth of July. Brett has been going to a lot of rodeos lately. This is us in Salina for the fireworks (and they were really great fireworks, except for a few mishaps that almost had the hill on fire)

We went camping by Fish Lake and it was a lot of fun. Here is Brett and Brett going for a ride

Recently my grandma Luella died. She was just 3 months shy of her 99th Birthday. I love her very much and she is already missed.
She never missed an event, party, or anything else. Here she is at my hygiene graduation a few years ago and again at my wedding in Hawaii.

Well that's it for now. I have lots of pictures, but not the time to wait for them to upload, lol

Happy Anniversary.... To Us!

Last weekend we celebrated our third anniversary...... Crazy it has been 3 years. We went down to Bryce Canyon and stayed at the Stone Canyon Inn- I would definitely recommend it! We had our own cabin that had a BBQ and a hot tub- which was nice because the weather sucked!

This was the Main house/lodge in Tropic

This is the cabin we stayed in

Our deck with the hot tub.

We spent some time at Bryce Canyon, a place neither of us had really been to, and it was really fun (except the weather).

So Pretty down there. I took so many pictures

I love Anniversaries, I look forward to them almost as much as Christmas. I think everyone should celebrate anniversaries and go all out and celebrate somehow. I am already thinking about the next one, and the next one....
I love my husband Brett so much and want to thank him for a great 3 years!
